The firm represented an infant who suffered brain damage as a result of negligent medical care provided during and after delivery. The defendants, who are non-licensed healthcare providers not covered by MICRA, had provided medical assistance described as “careless and unskillful” to both the mother and child, as well as not properly addressing the mother’s and infant’s incompatible blood types, resulting in severe brain, physical and emotional injuries. The complaint requests both economic and non-economic damages for the child’s future medical expenses, including nursing care and therapy costs, as well as diminished future earning capacity. A partial settlement of $1 million was obtained against one of the attending doctors.
